Coca-Cola has sued Vue after the cinema chain ended their 25-year partnership and chose PepsiCo as its soft drinks supplier across Europe. Vue, which runs more than 90 cinemas in the UK and Ireland, selected PepsiCo in a deal lasting until at least 2030.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Great Britain launched legal action to recover alleged unpaid debts following the contract’s termination. Vue said the disputed sum was under £100,000 and confirmed the winding-up petition had been withdrawn, adding that no money is now outstanding on either side.
Vue’s founder and chief executive, Tim Richards, criticised the move, saying the issue could have been resolved without lawyers. Coca-Cola declined to comment.
