Amazon revealed a new round of global job cuts after an internal email reached workers by mistake.
The message, sent within Amazon Web Services, said affected staff in the US, Canada, and Costa Rica had already been informed.
A senior executive signed the draft email, describing the layoffs as part of “Project Dawn”.
Amazon previously announced 14,000 corporate job cuts as it trims pandemic-era expansion.
The company employs about 1.5 million people worldwide and continues to reduce costs.
