Sacks will guide policy in these crucial sectors, which Trump sees as vital for U.S. competitiveness. Sacks’ responsibilities will include promoting free speech online and addressing concerns about Big Tech censorship.
A Background in Tech and Venture Capital
After earning a law degree from the University of Chicago, Sacks began his career at McKinsey & Company. He then joined Confinity, the company that later became PayPal, where he built its core teams. PayPal was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion.
Sacks later founded Yammer, a social network for businesses, which was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 billion. In 2017, he co-founded Craft Ventures, which has invested in major tech companies like Airbnb and SpaceX.
