Abdullah Othman, a political adviser to Saif al-Islam, confirmed the death in a short Facebook post, offering no information on how the killing occurred or who was responsible. His French lawyer, Marcel Ceccaldi, also confirmed the reports, telling AFP that the identities of the attackers remain unknown. Ceccaldi said he had been informed by a close associate roughly ten days earlier that Saif al-Islam was facing serious security concerns.
