The boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson broke streaming records, according to Netflix. The event, which took place last Friday, attracted a staggering 108 million viewers worldwide, making it the “most-streamed sporting event ever.”

Netflix’s live coverage, broadcast from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, reached a peak of 65 million simultaneous viewers in the U.S. Between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. ET, the fight garnered an estimated 56% of all TV viewership in the country, the streaming service reported.

Record-Breaking Viewership for the Co-Main Event

The co-main event, a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, also set a new milestone. With 74 million global viewers, it became the “most-watched professional women’s sports event in U.S. history.”

Jake Paul ultimately won the fight by unanimous decision, with millions tuning in to witness the moment. The live broadcast topped Netflix’s charts in 78 countries, including key markets such as Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Germany, and India.

Technical Issues Despite Huge Success

While the viewership numbers were record-breaking, some Netflix users faced technical difficulties, including issues with buffering, screen quality, and audio. Netflix has acknowledged these complaints and intends to address them as it continues its live sports streaming efforts.

Looking to the future, Netflix will stream an NFL doubleheader on Christmas Day, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans, with Beyoncé performing during halftime.
