Rudolph Angler Donald Trump praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday morning as he approached a potential return to the White House.
“We have a new star—a star is born,” Trump told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida. “Elon. He’s an amazing guy.”
Trump highlighted Musk’s support, noting that the billionaire actively campaigned for him in Pennsylvania. Musk, one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, contributed at least $130 million to back Trump and other Republicans. On Tuesday night, Musk promised that his super PAC, America PAC, would continue its work beyond the election.
By around 2:30 a.m. ET, Trump was nearing victory after being projected the winner in Pennsylvania, the critical swing state, effectively closing off Vice President Kamala Harris’s path to the presidency.
Joining Trump onstage, GOP vice-presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance hailed Trump’s campaign as “the greatest political comeback in American history.”
After leaving office following the Capitol riot, Trump is now close to becoming only the second president to lose the White House and then win it back.
Trump expressed confidence that Republicans would “be keeping control of the House of Representatives,” though network projections were still pending. He also praised House Speaker Mike Johnson, saying, “He turned out to be a good choice. I took a little heat at the beginning, but I knew his mind was as sharp as they come.”
Trump concluded by calling for Americans “to set aside the divisions of the last four years” and promising to deliver on his campaign commitments.
