Targeted Attacks on Terrorist Strongholds

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he had ordered airstrikes on ISIS positions in Somalia. The operation, carried out by U.S. Africa Command in coordination with Somalia’s government, marked the first military action in Somalia during his second term. The strikes aimed to eliminate key Islamic State fighters and disrupt their activities.

Pentagon Reports Multiple ISIS Fighters Killed

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that Trump personally approved the airstrikes, which resulted in several ISIS operatives being killed. A Pentagon assessment indicated that no civilians were harmed during the attack.

Trump shared on social media that the strikes targeted a senior ISIS planner and newly recruited fighters. He emphasized that the airstrikes destroyed enemy caves and took out multiple terrorists.

Trump Criticizes Previous Administration’s Response

Trump accused the Biden administration of failing to take decisive action against ISIS in Somalia. “Our military has tracked this ISIS attack planner for years, but Biden and his team were too slow. I acted!” he stated.

He also issued a stern warning to terrorist groups: “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!”

No Confirmation on the Fate of Key Target

Trump did not disclose the identity of the ISIS planner or confirm whether they had been eliminated. The White House has yet to release an official statement. Meanwhile, local reports indicated airstrikes in Somalia’s semi-autonomous Puntland region in the northeast.
